New 2018 Knott’s Scary Farm Mazes and Attractions Announced

Entertainment News Comments Off on New 2018 Knott’s Scary Farm Mazes and Attractions Announced

Knott’s Scary Farm has officially announced its new mazes, scare zone, and shows for the 2018 season and we couldn’t be more excited! We were on hand at the annual Knott’s Scary Farm announcement event and got all of the details!

Forsaken Lake is the newest scare zone that offers up scares by ways of Victorian nightmares lurking in the waters under the Silver Bullet roller coaster. The town flooded and left no survivors, but now the townsfolk and unearthly creatures are awakening from their watery tomb to haunt the living that left them there to rot. Expect mini shows by ways of processionals, terrifying characters stalking from the shadows, and gorgeous theming in the area under and around the Silver Bullet coaster.

The first 2018 maze announced was Dark Entities. The Knott’s press kit detailed what to expect: “Teleport beyond earth and into a realm where the darkness is absolute. In the depths of space, a lone station faces terror beyond all imagination. An extraterrestrial mutation has invaded the station, and it’s on the prowl for new hosts. The unearthly inhabitants’ force increases as it feeds on its unwilling victims. Escape the dark entities before its deathly force eliminates all living form aboard the station. There’s nowhere to escape when time is running out!” The creative team on hand to talk about KSF said this one is a masterpiece that they are thrilled with. The set is on a whole other level and along with the meticulously planned out scares, will leave a lasting memory with all brave enough to enter.

The other new maze for 2018 is called The Depths. Knott’s offered some insight for this new maze: “A heavy fog drapes over an abandoned port village where ancient creatures lurk inside the pitch-black underground caves hidden below the seaside shores. The Nightwatch Mining Crew has mysteriously disappeared and village rumors point to the eerie tunnels the town sits upon. Myths of the terrifying horrors that lurk within the cave have often been whispered but never confirmed. Did the crew meet their demise at the hand of vicious creatures that live within the cave? Journey into the dark caverns and follow the crew’s path into The Depths and discover if the superstition revolving around the cave is true or not. But be warned! All who have entered have never resurfaced.” Based on what the creative team shared, this maze is one of the most impressive and technical mazes ever created for Scary Farm. The finale room is particularly monumental, but the team was careful not to share any spoilers. I cannot wait to check this one out!

As well as the new mazes and scare zones, there new shows and a dance party for Scary Farm attendees to check out:

HACKS – Cutting Room Floor- As detailed in the Knott”s press release, “The unique, twisted, improvised comedy antics of “Hacks” returns to Knott’s Scary Farm with a brand new show in the Charles M. Schulz Theatre. This time around, they have taken over a run-down movie theater and with the help of the audience and lots of “B” horror films, they create on the spot, a Halloween show that will have you screaming with laughter.”

The Hanging: Shhhhh! It Happens is new version of The Hanging for this year. This is a fun show that pokes fun at pop culture and reminds us that sometimes the real world is so absurd, it’s scary!

Conjure is a new show in the Birdcage Theater featuring a few different magicians that include Fox’s Masters of Illusion regulars. Dana Daniels, Taylor Hughes, and Chipper Lowel will be on hand select nights through the haunt season.

Lastly, Awaken the Dead will be a fun dance party where guests can dance their scares away (or at least try to).

There is no question that Knott’s Scary Farm raises the bar when it comes to haunted attractions and creating the greatest Halloween atmosphere during the best time of year. 2018 is set to be one for the books and we are beyond excited for this haunt season! Knott’s Scary Farm runs on select nights from September 20th – October 31st and tickets are on sale now! Click here for all of the tickets and ticket packages.
