Ghost Adventures Recap: “Point Sur Lighthouse”
Original Air Date (Travel Channel): Friday September 28, 2012
Season 7 Episode 3

Location

This week’s episode takes us to a lighthouse along the beautiful California coastline 135 miles south of San Francisco.

History

About 25 miles away from Monterey, California, sits the Point Sur Lighthouse on top of a volcanic rock formation. Although this serene coastline boasts some of the most beautiful views on this planet, it has also been the scene of some tragic events. Several shipwrecks have tarnished the shores, resulting in many lives lost. Carol O’Neil, local Point Sur Lighthouse historian, informs the crew that in 1894, the ship, “Los Angeles” hit some rocks and sank, killing six people. In 1933, another wreck saw the loss of two lives. The area consists of the lighthouse and nine buildings that have been the residence of many keepers over the years.

Paranormal investigator and tour guide of the lighthouse, Julie Nunes, shares some “Class A” E.V.P.s that she has captured at this location. She replays for us the audio from an E.V.P.:

Digital voice recorder: (in an Irish accent) “Now she wants you to go home.”

Julie also replays another E.V.P. that she recorded in the building known as the Triplex, which leads us to believe that perhaps a secret affair has been revealed from the past:

Digital voice recorder: “You liar, you kissed her.

Peggy Armer, a Point Sur Lighthouse volunteer, recounts the time that she and Julie heard the upstairs dresser drawers slide open in the Triplex building. Sure enough, when she and Julie went upstairs they discovered that the drawers were open. The drawers were then shut by Julie and they went back downstairs. They then heard the same noise again and immediately went up to see that the drawers were all open once again. Another volunteer at the lighthouse, Monica Judd-Powell, reveals that on different occasions pieces of the wooden ceiling have fallen down and landed perfectly on the floor across the threshold, with nails sticking up. Julie also tells Zak that the pathway outside has been a place of interest. She plays back an E.V.P. of a little girl’s voice saying:

Digital voice recorder: “I’m right here.”

Zak, Nick, and Aaron decide to set sail aboard a small boat. Historian, JoAnn Semonest, Ph.D., joins the crew on the “Randy’s Fishing Boat” with Captain Brian Cutting in Monterey, California. They trek their way 25 miles along the coast to Point Sur Lighthouse. As JoAnn educates Zak about the many shipwrecks in the area, Nick turns green from enduring the choppy waters. JoAnn stuns Zak when she tells him that one of the six people that perished in the “Los Angeles” wreck was a little girl. Zak wonders if that little girl is the one Julie has heard at the lighthouse.

The Lockdown

Since Julie has presented some amazing class A E.V.P.’s to the crew that were caught during the day, Zak decides that they should do part of the lockdown during daylight and include Julie. They make their way over to the Headkeeper’s house and begin to do an E.V.P. session. After they are done with that they decide to go to the base camp in the barn to see if they have captured any E.V.P.s. They capture the following:

Zak: “Are we interrupting something?”

Digital voice recorder: “Careful.”

Zak: “Did you see any of the shipwrecks?”

Digital voice recorder: “(unexplained whispering)”
While the crew is reviewing the E.V.P.s in the control room, Billy, Zak, Aaron, and Nick all hear the voice of a little girl singing. Zak grabs the Mel Meter and a digital voice recorder and the Mel Meter begins to spike.

Zak: “Little girl, did we just hear you singing?”

Digital voice recorder: (in a little girl’s voice)”I’m sick.”

As night falls on the crew, Zak takes out the thermal camera and begins to film along the path outside. He becomes amazed when he captures the distant thermal imaging of a human on the hillside, only there is nobody there walking around. It is later revealed that over a century ago there used to be an area over on that hillside that was used as a loading area by the shore.

The crew now heads over to the Triplex building and Zak breaks out the SB-7 device. What next happens is something that Zak refers to as a paranormal wave of activity. Zak feels the sensation of somebody running their fingers through his hair and then begins his session:

Zak: “Who are you?”

SB-7 device: “Michael.”

Zak lifts his head up to look at Aaron and instantly exclaims that he just saw a tall skinny man behind Aaron.

Zak: “Are you a lightkeeper?”

SB-7 device: (in a little girl’s voice) “Admiral.”

Aaron, Nick and Zak feel a wall of cold air surround them.

Nick: “Who is here with us?”

They all here unexplained crying.

Nick: “That’s sad.”
SB-7 device: (in a man’s voice) “Sad.”

Quotable Quotes:

Zak narrating: “That lighthouse is only here for one reason…to signal that this is where you do not want to be.

Aaron to viewers: “I speak four languages and one of them is seal.

Nick to Zak: “I’m about to throw up on this bird.
