Doctor Who Series 11

Doctor Who begins production on season 12, and even though the new season won’t arrive until 2020 we’re still excited that more tales are on the way.

Jodie Whittaker made her debut as the 13th Doctor in season 11 of Doctor Who, and she immediately left an indelible mark on the franchise as the first female Doctor. With new showrunner Chris Chibnall at the help, season 11 featured some of the best stories the show has had in years.

According to SyFy Wire, filming for season 12 started on January 23 after the cast posted a picture on the show’s social media accounts. While this is certainly welcome news, there’s no denying that it will be a long wait to see the new season given that the show won’t return until 2020.

Doctor Who broke with longstanding tradition after skipping the annual Christmas episode in favor of a New Year’s Day episode. That episode, which featured a New Year’s theme, will be the only episode to air in 2019. It’s quite possible that the next time Whovians see the Thirteenth Doctor in action will be on New Year’s Day 2020.

Keep checking back for updates on Doctor Who and the show’s 12th season!
